Tickets are not required for the Baccalaureate Mass on Friday afternoon or the main Commencement Exercises on Saturday morning.
Seating for the Baccalaureate Mass in The Great Upper Church will not begin until 2:30 p.m. on Friday in order to accommodate those who will be attending the Honors Convocation for Undergraduates which begins at 1 p.m. in the same location.
General seating for guests attending the Commencement Exercises is located on the University Mall, near the east steps of the basilica. Most of the seating is in the sun, with very few seats in shaded areas. Guests may wish to bring hats and bottled water, as it can become very hot in the sun during warm weather; umbrellas are not permitted as they may block the view of other guests.
Guests who do not wish to be seated on the mall may choose to view the ceremony indoors at the Edward J. Pryzbyla University Center, where the ceremony will be shown via simulcast. In case of inclement weather, an announcement will be posted on the university Web site after 8 a.m. the morning of May 14, 2016.
Inclement weather may limit the capacity of seating available in diploma distribution locations. Students should contact their individual schools for more information regarding limitations and/or tickets.
Programs will be distributed to guests by the ushers at the Commencement Exercises.
