So, you're graduating in May 2017. What do you need to do to get there? Follow the steps below to prepare yourself for Commencement 2017!
Step 1: Apply for Graduation
All students intending to graduate in May 2017 must apply for graduation through Cardinal Station by Friday, March 3, 2017. Click on "Student Center" after logging in, and in the "Academics" section, click on the "Apply for Graduation" link from the drop-down menu. Follow the prompts to successfully apply for graduation. Click here for a tutorial about this process.
Step 2: Verify Address in Cardinal Station
Verify that your address in Cardinal Station is correct. If your address is not current in Cardinal Station, you will not receive important mailings about Commencement 2017.
Step 3: Attend the Graduation Fair
February 21-22, 2017
This is a one stop shop to ensure you are set to graduate! Order your cap, gown, diploma frame, and announcements and reconcile your student account to make sure it is free of holds that would prevent you from graduating. Representatives from Enrollment Servies, Student Financial Assistance, Career Services, Alumni Relations and Barnes and Noble will be on hand to assist you. Visit the website for more information. Remember, if you have a hold on your account, you will not receive your diploma!
Step 4: Complete Exit Loan Counseling
Students who received a Federal Loan while attending CUA must complete Exit Loan Counseling as a condition of their loan. Visit the Student Financial Assistance website to find out how to complete your specific Federal Loan Exit Counseling.
Step 5: Check and Reconcile Your Student Account
Students should check their student account throughout the semester to ensure that there are no holds on their account. If there is a hold on your account for an overdue balance, contact Enrollment Services. If there is a library hold on your account, reconcile your library fines at Mullen Library. If there is a Health Services hold on your account, contact Health Servies. If there is a judicial hold on your account, contact your case officer. Again, if you have a hold on your account, you will not receive your diploma!
Step 6: Check Your Email for Updates From Your Academic School
Your academic school will send you updates about Commencement 2017 as May approaches. Be sure to check and read your email to receive the most updated information about what you should do the day of Commencement.
